Presenter: Nicholas Ahrens
Co-Founder, Personr
Nick Ahrens is the Co-Founder of Personr, a platform dedicated to making powerful financial crime prevention tools accessible through a single, unified solution.
He is committed to helping newly regulated industries, including legal, accounting, and real estate, meet their AUSTRAC obligations with confidence.
Nick began his career studying civil engineering, where he learned a fundamental principle: if the foundation is wrong, everything built on top of it fails.
This is exactly what he observed in AML compliance. Many businesses were trying to meet complex regulatory obligations using outdated tools, spreadsheets, and manual processes, often resulting in inefficiency and unnecessary stress.
In 2021, Nick and his Co-Founder, Charlie Westerman, set out to change this. They built Personr to deliver end-to-end compliance, covering program hosting, KYC and KYB, AML screening, and reporting in one place.
Since then, Personr has raised a seed round backed by Fund WA and now supports regulated businesses across financial services, legal, and accounting as Tranche 2 obligations come into effect.
