    1 CPD Unit – Substantive Law
    Cost: $140 Incl GST

    Proposed legislation to establish a minimum tax on the net income of discretionary trusts raises important considerations for professional advisers and their clients. The Income Tax Rates Amendment (Minimum Tax on Discretionary Trusts) Bill 2026 (the Bill) was introduced into the House of Representatives on 14 October 2026.

    Join Dr Bill Orow, Barrister, as he examines the Bill and its implications for existing trusts, restructuring options and future planning. Throughout the webinar, Bill will discuss:
    • the proposed minimum tax and its application to the net income of discretionary trusts;
    • reviewing existing trusts in light of the proposed legislation;
    • restructuring options for existing trusts;
    • implications for establishing new trusts; and
    • estate planning considerations.

    This session will help professional advisers understand the proposed changes and identify matters to consider when reviewing clients’ trust and estate planning arrangements.
