Sexual Harassment and discrimination laws have evolved over time in Australia and old legacy HR policies can often fall short of legislative requirements. It is imperative for employers and employees alike to understand the new landscape of legal protections and obligations. The Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth) and the NSW Industrial Relations Act have been amended to prohibit sexual harassment in connection with work, marking a significant shift towards a safer and more respectful workplace environment. These changes expand the protections against sexual harassment, bullying and victimisation but also introduce a positive duty for employers to prevent such behaviour in the workplace.

Join Ian Latham from Denman Chambers, as he explores the implications of these laws, assists in helping employers and their advisers understand the expanded definitions and protections and discusses the responsibilities that these new laws impose on all workplace participants.
